How to prepare your screen before selecting colors

Night filters and automatic tint correction change the palette. Restore neutral display settings before the selection.

Start the practice

Disable Night Shift and eye-comfort mode

A warm filter reduces blue light and changes relationships between shades.

Turn off True Tone and color filters

Automatic tint correction is useful daily but makes the palette dependent on ambient light.

Use 70–90% brightness

A dim screen compresses dark cards. Use a clear but comfortable level.

Choose neutral lighting

Avoid strongly yellow lamps, colored ambient light, and direct reflections.

Frequently asked questions

Should I remember the first selection?

No. Do not reproduce or correct the first order before the second pass.

Should I choose my favorite color?

Choose the most pleasant remaining card now, not your favorite color in general.
